Auhadi Dynasty

Auhadi Dynasty
   Nobles belonging to the Auhadi clan controlled Bayana during the reign of Mahmud Shah Tughlaq (1394-1412). In 1417-1418, the first ruler of the Saiyid dynasty, Khizr Khan, forced Karim ul-Mulk Auhadi, then controlling Bayana, to submit to Delhi. Ten years later (1427-1428), Muhammad Khan Auhadi was ousted from Bayana by Sultan Mubarak Shah (1421-1434), but the clan was not uprooted from there. In 1446-1447, Daud Khan Auhadi proclaimed himself a sovereign ruler of Bayana. This short-lived dynasty was finally removed from Bayana by Sikandar Lodi in 1491-1492. At Bayana, several buildings constructed by the Auhadis have survived; some of them carry inscriptions.
